Spring Fling

Just to let everyone know, this blog is still alive and so am I. Lol I’ve been neck-deep in work for the past months since I got back in Manila so I never had the chance to blog. I also deactivated my Facebook account and might never activate it again. Haha Why? Well, at first, it was because I’m currently doing something career-related that requires most, if not all, of my attention. I’m sure you guys would agree with me that social networking sites, most especially Facebook, take a lot of our precious time. So, yeah. I decided to deactivate it for a while. But now, I realized that I don’t really need it in my life since I don’t like sharing my pictures and thoughts there anyway. I kept my messenger active though, so my friends and family can still reach me (and vice versa) anytime. That’s the most important thing, right? 🙂

I stopped checking and posting on Instagram for a while too because aside from Facebook, this app also takes a lot of my time (probably even more than Facebook). My blog’s Facebook page, Scrubs and Skirts, is still up and all blog updates will be posted there. But don’t think that I totally gave up on social media because I didn’t. Haha I still have my Twitter account where I share my random thoughts and Snapchat! Haha I’m enjoying this app a lot now but I don’t post snaps regularly. I just like checking out snaps from people that I follow whenever I have some free time. Add me up guys and let’s have fun with each other’s snaps! Username is still @yenbirao. 😉

Anyway, enough about my social media updates. It just dawned on me a few days back that I still have a LOT of photos waiting to be posted here. So, to start off, here are some photos from last year’s cherry blossom season in South Korea.

These photos were taken in Seokchon Lake, a few blocks away from my apartment and office. It is one of those places that both locals and tourists love to visit during spring time because of the beautiful cherry blossom trees surrounding the area. My friend and I were lucky to be working near this place so we were able to sneak out during lunch time to take some photos. Cherry blossom trees only stay in full bloom for about 1-2 weeks so you really have to watch out for it.

I was thinking of naming this post “Memories of Spring” since I have a lot of good and fun memories during this season. But then I thought, “Spring Fling” is more appropriate because just like the cherry blossom trees, spring flings don’t last forever. Though some can give you memories that could last a lifetime. Whoa! You didn’t see that coming, did you? Lol Sorry guys, I was reminded of this thought again last night. Excuse me but I just have to say this now… Let bygones be bygones. I’m happy for you. 🙂

So much going on in this post. Lol My thoughts are all mixed up now. Sorry! Must be the effect of not blogging for so long, now my ideas are all over the place. 😛 Anyway, on a lighter note, anyone here familiar with the famous Korean drama, Descendants of the Sun? The guy in my photo above has a slight resemblance with actor Song Joong-ki aka Captain Yoo Shi Jin. I noticed it while I was editing these photos. Hahaha Had to zoom in to make sure. Too bad it wasn’t him. 🙁 Lol

Okay, guys, it’s time for me to go again. Will be posting more in the days to come, though I’m not sure when. Haha Just keep on checking my blog every now and then, or better yet, add me on Snapchat because I’m most probably gonna share it there first.

Thanks everyone for reading! 🙂
