A bigger and better Yoshinoya is now open at SM Mall of Asia and I was lucky enough to be one of the first few people to visit their new place. Since I don’t usually eat at Japanese restaurants, I got so excited (and nervous? lol whut) when I received an invitation to attend their Grand Re-Opening last March 26. I had second thoughts, though, coz SM MOA is a bit far from where I live and the event was scheduled to start at 10:00 – 10.30 AM. I was afraid that I might wake up late (coz it’s my rest day and you know how hard it is to wake up early on those days. lol), get stuck in traffic and arrive at the venue past 10.30. HAHA Oh well, the pessimist in me. Thank God I made it to the event just fine and had enough time to take pictures. Blogger mode: ON!
The first thing that caught my attention upon entering Yoshinoya was the color of the restaurant’s interior. I love orange! It relaxes my eyes but at the same time, makes me hungry too! Haha Good job, Yoshinoya!
I’ll be honest and admit that I don’t have enough knowledge about Japanese cuisine so if you’re a foodie, I won’t be able to give you a proper food review in this post. But, I can confidently say that Yoshinoya is definitely worth a try. I’m usually very picky when it comes to food and quite particular when it comes to the quality and price. That being said, I’m happy that Yoshinoya offers delicious Japanese food at very affordable prices. Perfect for those days when I feel like feeding myself with Tonkatsu or Tempura without having to spend a lot of money.
After what felt like 15-20 minutes from the time I arrived and the guests were all in, the event started.
Store blessing and ribbon cutting. Orange everywhere! Yay! 😀
Welcome address by Yoshinoya’s President / General Manager, Mr. Timothy Yang.
Yoshinoya is home to delicious modern Japanese comfort food, from fresh salads, delectable seafood, noodles and great selections of entrees on Japanese rice bowls. Since 2001, the company, with the vision to be the most preferred Japanese restaurant in the country, has offered high quality food at affordable prices with exceptional friendly service to its patrons.
Over the years, Yoshinoya’s menu changed to reflect today’s consumer except for the Beef Bowl (Gyudon) which is Yoshinoya’s specialty. It is the same product profile where Yoshinoya operates in other parts of the world. The core product is prepared using premium beef with the special beef stock over steaming bowl of white rice.
Got to taste one of their famous Beef Bowls, the Beef Misono, for lunch and Tiramisu for desserts. I think I don’t need to tell you anymore that it’s indeed the best beef bowl in town coz my opinion won’t matter anyway. It’s a fact. It made me skip my diet (Huhu. I went to the gym right after this event. lol). I also tried typing beef bowl in Google and Yoshinoya was the first to appear. So there. Still not convinced? Well, better visit Yoshinoya and experience it for yourself! I might visit their SM Megamall branch soon so just in case you’ll see me, say hi, okay? :3
